Welcome the New Art

She comes from a dream originally. She evolved out of a series of disenchantments with contemporary criticism. She coalesced to bring together some disparate looks under one banner...or perhaps a whole parade:

A sketch, a wash of peach, a wave to woodblocks and forrest, a wink to fable, a nod to Nouveau...a poster child for the sweet coo of subtle tweaks. And just wait until she speaks.

She might share her love of natural ornament,
Her zest for sacred spires,
(and all kinds of symbols, actually)...
An addiction to flourish,
A craving for earth,
A soft spot for sinews,
The product of both planning and surprise.

Or would she say...: “You can do it!”?
A flower bud but also a fighter,
a quiet revolutionary building a new land, waving a new flag.
Perhaps this is like her emblem or her shield for going into battle. Her badge, or a family crest.
Her paintbrush is her sword.
Strokes or fibers drip like honey from the hand onto the ground, and she grips onto her vision.

She is new and hopeful, a star for me to follow in the night, when I’ve lost my way and I look up.
A gift from above.
This is a promise.
It means I except what comes and that I am ready to share.
